Finally, one of the more stressful weeks in the term has passed. The reasons why i consider this week so stressful is due to the 3 test bombarding at the same time. History test was on Monday. I think I did rather alright in that although I had to rush through the last question and did not write as much as I should have. The next test was on Tuesday, Biology. I thought it was moderate. Wasn't the easiest paper but also wasn't the hardest. Chemistry test was on Thursday, and I thought that this was extremely difficult. If I am not wrong, Mr Bowen tested things that he didn't even teach. So unfair. After school, had to stay back until 6, and miss basketball at the same time to attend a play meeting which I thought was rather useless, for me at least. Got back my History test results on Friday and did alright although not as well as I hoped. Got back Biology and this time, I was rather disappointed. Didn't do as well as expected and made many careless mistakes. After school, had play rehearsals again. This time a lot more fruitful. So that kind of rounds up the most stressing week in a while.

Ok, I watched 2 very touching movie. One this afternoon and the other just now. The first one was Click. It was suppose to be a hilarious movie but after the movie, if one reflected on it, you would see that is has a very deep and important moral. The moral is that family priorities should never and can never be left in the ditch in place for work. No matter how important it is. In the story, Adam Sandler dreams of what his life is like when he got the remote and he uses it to his advantage. He used it to get out of arguments with his wife and stuff. He even used it until the point where it would go automatically and he used it until he got his promotion. This is where the trouble starts. His son tells him that his dad is dead and Adam goes back to see how it happened. He noticed that his dad actually wanted to go out with him but because of his work, and his promotion, Adam neglected his father. He was extremely depressed after this and swore not to let his son let work overtake family. By the way, due to his work, he had lost his wife. So, before he could tell his son about this, he had a heartattack. That day just so happened to be his son's wedding day. His son was due to fly off for a Honeymoon but cancelled the trip just to go to work. When his dad heard this on the hospital bed, he tried to tell him but to no avail. When he finally thought about what he had to do, he got out of bed, tore off his life support equipment and ran after his son into the rain and collapsed. His son, thankfully, heard him and went to help him. In the movie, Adam's final words were :" Don't let work overtake family.". We can relate this life in a sense. Do we let the prospect of work overtake that of the family? Do we choose work over family? Do we succumb to these sort of worldly pressures and let go of the precious love of a family? Well, it is best not to. A promotion may always be there. However, family is something that must be nurtured and taken care of. A family is a group of people who will always be there when ever and wherever the need  arises. They will never leave if nurtured properly and will be like a best friend in times of need. Therefore, do not let your work or even peer pressure become more important than your family.

The second show I watched was October Sky. It was about a group of boys going against all odds to make a difference in their lives. Even though they were somewhat ostracized in their town, they strived with determination and came out as heros. I won't really elaborate on this show. Getting straight to the point, do we just give up all our dreams and aspirations just because people say we can't do it and that we are just wasting our time? Just reflect on this question. Does peer pressure rule our life? We should be able to dictate our own lives. Who is to say that you are wasting your time? Who is to say that it is useless? If you really strive and are determined, you will make it someday. Thomas Edision had more than 100 prototypes for the lightbulb and was told that it was useless at times. However, he strived and was determined and thus, he made invented the lightbulb. So, we should not let what people say affect what we want to be. We should just do what we want to do. After all, failure helps you learn much more than success.
