Okay, i do apologise for the late post, on both the Grade 7 Camp and for the pictures from Japan. Been really busy with homework, organising stuff and basically going through everyday life. So first of, Grade 7 Orientation Camp.
During the camp, I was part of the logistics team. I had to get everything which were required for the games and for the entire camp. So, on the first day of the camp, the 16th of January, I had to go down to toa payoh twice, with Jefri, to get some stuff that was short in supply. I really enjoyed the walks as I felt that I got to know Jefri alot more on our way, to and fro toa payoh. So, after all the logistical stuff were settled, it was dinner time. So i had my dinner while having a briefing for the night games. The plan was for the facilitators to go around the school, scaring the participants as they venture around the school in groups. Me and Caleb, being really bored, and not having a mask or anything, decided to wrap a shirt over our head and run around the school, carrying guns which we confiscated off some Grade 7s. We were like terrorist of some kind. It was really fun as we got quite a number of people to scream when we ran past them, shouting at the top of our voice and shooting the gun. Next, we decieded to change our weapon of choice to the chair. We started running around with a chair over our necks. After the game, all of us were half dead with exhaution from the running. We had a briefing and after which, I joined Benjamin Teo and Isabelle's group for a sharing. Had a rather rushed one as I came in half way through it. So, after that, had supper, and had our final debrief for the night. So, during the night, Caleb, David, Ricardo and I decided to go take a shower, as we were stinky and stuff. However, we decided to check on the water bomb fillers first. We did so and ended up staying there for 4+ hours, carrying tubs of water bombs all the way down to the basketball courts. We were so exhausted around 5.45am that we decided to sleep at the fitness corner. We slept from 6am to 6.30am, where we moved up to the secretariat, and then, subsequently back to the basketball courts for morning PT. Not going to elaborate as i can see that the post is getting very long. So, the highlights of the second day were the flour fight, down at the upper field, where people were just throwing flour at people, and having lots of fun, and to the other extreme, the water bomb fight, which consisted of people throwing about 1000 water bombs, filled that morning, at each other. Lots of fun, lots of laughter, lots of fellowship. So, that basically rounds up the second day, which ended the camp off with a reflection by Gerard and Louisa. Although, there were many times when i was annoyed at some people, but overall, the camp was a huge sucess and this was all thanks to the Organizing Committie, the Facilitators and the Participants!
